In a previous post I mentioned why we do “Date Nights” and this this one of them. One night we actually acted our age and went out for a night on the town! (Ok, pick your jaw up of the floor and I’ll tell you about it).
We thought we would get into the party mood at Alba Lounge at the Waterfront… So we headed up there, taking in the harbour view and getting excited to be young again. We found a table, which was ridiculously easy, as we were the only people there!! Forgetting that the “young people” now only leave the house at 10 to get their party on. Nevertheless this was not going to damper our spirits, we had a cocktail and then decided that we should eat something substantial… Other than the little cocktail things that Alba Lounge had on offer.
Off we went on an aimless hunt around the Waterfront, with only our rumbling tummy’s as a guide. We ended up at the St Elmo’s slice away thing. How young is that?! I remember going to places like this when I was scraping every last cent together to do so. Once our tummies were full we contemplated where to go next.
Feeling adventurous (a rare occurrence) I let Seth talk me into going to BrauHaus and having one of their beers. I must point out that I hate beer, I love drinks that are on the sweeter side of sweet and I really don’t like beer! Oh, did I say that already? Anyway.
We settled into our corner and I tried to stomach German beer… A no go zone – for future reference… Despite the beer, this was the best date we have had in a long time, we talked, we joked, we laughed, we giggled and just enjoyed each others company. It was great and I encourage you to do the same!
Wow, I look like a chubby cheese maker! Anyway, this was most awesome. Despite being the only people in a club, looking ridiculously out of the cool crowd, I really enjoyed time with my adventurous, beer drinking, oily pizza eating, gorgeous wife machine. Thanks babe!
