Back at work today – sad face of note.
But instead on dwelling on that, I’m thinking of all the fun things that we got to do this holiday with the family, especially Mia and Ben. Somehow when they are down we seem to pack a million things into just two or three weeks, I often wonder if we would have even gotten to half of them over 6 months if it was up to us to organise and decide on it. It’s super intense, but loads of fun memories are made.
So, as most parents experience, it’s not often that we get a chance to go out. Really, it’s a sacred luxury that we have to prep and plan for what feels like weeks in advance. I guess that comes with the territory of having 3 kids and being too over protective to leave them with anyone besides our parents.
However, who needs to go out to have a fabulous evening? All you need is someone who can cook up a storm (Mia), a willing host (Seth’s parents) and a theme (50’s Edge – i.e. as much 50’s as you could muster with the hours notice).
The decor was fantastic, the menu was well thought out, tasty and beautifully prepared, each course was perfectly paired with a lovely wine. The company was fun as usual and all in all it was a fantastic night, definitely one that will stand out in my mind for a very long time.
As with all events after their bedtime, the kids had a fantastic time before becoming a bit crazy and out of hand. Luckily there were loads of helping hands to keep them in check until it was time to leave.
I didn’t get a picture of the amazing dessert because I ate it before I remembered that I didn’t get a picture.
