We recently went to the sweetest dinosaur party.
My photos don’t do justice to the hard work and planning that went on behind the scenes, but my friend Zoë and her hubs did a spectacular job.
First they got to decorate their own binoculars, then we went on treasure hunt around Kirstenbosch Gardens. At each stop they got something new for their goodie bags – from mini torches, to little dinosaurs, to little dinosaur eggs (jelly eggs are just the best aren’t they?) and it was just so to see how excited they got!
The awesome thing about having a party like this at Kirstenbosch, is that they currently have a dinosaur exhibition up in the grounds. It’s set in a part of it that actually feels like you have gone right back in time. It almost feels like you might hear one of them roar at you while you are walking along the path (don’t worry, you won’t).
The aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness about the threats faced by cycads, and to increase public participation and support for cycad conservation and research. The exhibition will run until June 2017 – for more on this click here.
Definitely worth going to see – the kids were amazed.
And obviously we brought the scariest dinosaur with us…
Some more pictures of the afternoon 🙂

I love how this party was one we may have gone to as youngsters. The beautiful home made cake (no fake 4 tier fancy pants one here!!), homemade toys, and best of all….a party outside in this lovely weather. xxx
What an excellent party idea!
