Look, I get it.
I mean if anyone in the whole World gets it, it’s me.
What I’m trying to say is, when you’ve had ANOTHER sleepless night, spent more time than you’d like cleaning up after your little vomit commit and managed to spill the dregs of your coffee all over yourself, the last thing you feel like is getting dressed up like, I don’t know, someone who hasn’t just wondered if that’s poop under her nails.
And if you manage to get yourself to your wardrobe (while dragging along the toddler who is clinging to your leg), you’ll probably stand there and exclaim the same thing I do every morning, “I have absolutely nothing to wear“!
So you pull on your old faithful jeans, rummage through your closet to find a clean t-shirt and hope for the best.
I can’t tell you how often I stand there wishing I could (for once) indulge myself in some new clothing instead of, you know, feeding my family or something.
But then I realised that keeping up with the latest trends doesn’t have to cost the Earth. There are many great stores in South Africa that are making it easier for us to feel better about our wardrobe this Summer – one of those is Jet. Honestly, if you’d asked me a couple of months ago if I’d have shopped there, I would have said no, but when they invited me to see their latest Summer range I was really and truly surprised by how much I liked it.
Jet have really stepped up to the plate this Summer with some great looks for the season. Many of which I wasn’t able to photograph, BUT…
Here are some of my favourite looks that you can find in your local Jet right now:
OK, so we’d get a slightly larger top for our girls to make sure there’s no belly showing, but I adore this look. There’s also a sweet, lacey white back pack that the girls would love.
I think Summer is all about colour and yellow is one of my favourite Summer colours.
I’d wear this when taking the kids down to the beach or for running around the park. It’s so versatile actually, you could wear it to any casual occasion.
I think you’d know already that no one is ever going to see my tummy ever again, but even tucked into the shorts – this would be my default weekend look.
For all of you long-legged people that can pull this look off, firstly I’m totes jealous of you and secondly, you better get yourself one of these (also comes in black).
* I was the guest of Jet who flew me up to JHB for the show – all views and opinions are my own.

I’ve been trying to tame the frumpiness lately but I still prefer my jeans and t-shirt. Especially when I come from work and I have a 1 year old clinging to my leg because he doesn’t want to be by his dad and my almost 5 year old runs into the house from playing outside, with his pants down by knees, screaming that he’s pooping himself because he was too busy playing than to worry about coming inside to use the bathroom (sorry maybe that was an overshare). It’s just easier to deal with these kind of scenarios in pumps than in heels. What was I getting at? oh I need to pop into Jet to see what they have for this frumpy mommy. Thanks for this!
Even with my height challenges, I have all the heart eyes in the world right now for that “jumpsuit”!
