Oh Holidays!

We’re finally on holiday.

Just thinking the words brings up a mental image of people playing trumpets and jingling all the bells while we do the running man in the lounge.

It’s great.  And to start it off we leave for what’s becoming our annual holiday spot – Ceres.  In fact, when I was trying to make play date plans with a new friend of Kylas, I realised that our distant holiday was in fact, tomorrow!  Have I planned, packed or managed to buy presents for everyone before we leave?  Nope.  But that shouldn’t surprise you.  I’m wearing holes in the seat of my pants because I fly by them so often.  By the way, if you want to, come hang out with me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram if you’ve been thinking about going to Ceres but weren’t sure why you would go.  I’m pretty sure we’ll be sharing snippets of the holiday while we are having fun.

Anyway.

Our much coveted tree was put up last weekend and it’s just added a whole extra festiveness to the house.  They say one of the best things about a real tree is the smell right?  But I haven’t been able to smell (or taste) anything in 2 weeks.  I think I have a (self diagnosed) sinus infection.  That or according to Dr Google, I have lung cancer.  I think I’m going to stick to my diagnosis this time.  Don’t want to put a damper on the holiday or anything.

But back to the tree.  They say it smells amazing and it’s worth having even thought it pricks them every time they go near it.  On a related note, our decorations have actually managed to stay up far longer than they normally do – I think prickly trees are worth it!  Also it was fun seeing how old our tree was – actually counting all the circles.  It was 7 – as old as our dogs.
