When my brother and I were growing up, we played together a lot. Seth on the other hand? He had two older sisters who often left him alone while they did things he wasn’t interested in. It meant that he spent a lot of time on his own building things. And history is repeating itself with our three.
I’ll often find the girls sitting cross legged on the top bunk of their bed, engrossed in a Princess book. Or doing each others make up. Or just wanting to get away from the boisterous brother that likes attacking them with things. And Knox? Well, he doesn’t care. He just wanders off into his room, pulls out his toys and gets on with it. I’ve regularly found him sitting on his floor, surrounded in his superheros or building a new car with his Lego, chatting to himself and having a swell time.
We’ve had our Duplo boxes for a month now and honestly, I fully expected our kids to get bored and no longer play with it. Kids these days have the attention spans of goldfish. Am I right?!
But I was wrong. While it is true that when I’m trying to teach them a lesson, my kids can’t concentrate for more than a minute, they can still spend entire afternoons delivering food parcels to each other. The Lego is still a hit. Knox has morphed the truck into so many things over the last couple of weeks – a dinosaur hunting truck, a fire truck, a chasing his sisters truck, a police truck and so much more. I love being there to watch his imagination go wild.
In fact, he’s claimed the truck as his own because anything with wheels just automatically becomes his. It’s part of the unwritten laws in our house that also include things like, “If you’ve left party pack in the cupboard and the chocolate is gone in the morning – then Daddy ate it” or “If Mommy is huddled in a corner shoving Nik Naks into her face, back away slowly and be very, very quiet“.
But back to the Lego.
It’s stood the test of time and I am so chuffed with it. So I want you to have some too.

Rushdi is obsessed with building London Bridge. Big ones, small ones, so that his cars can drive under or over them. He loves vehicles of any kind as well. He’d love this set.
Ah, how cute is that trucky… My boys would go crazy for this.

love building anything . the amount of time spent with my little one is the best
My daughter is not quite one so isn’t at the proper building stage but she loves to stack things (and then knock them down). My brother and I grew up with Lego and Meccano so would love to build up a collection of these sorts of toys for her.
My daughter, Blake loves building dinosaurs and horses as if I can actually build anything resembling that
My eldest, Matthew, loves to build airplanes and guns (eeek). He takes after his mom where Lego building is concerned lol.
We love building trains and houses (well shelters that look like ‘houses’). Then my little one loves to put the animals or people on the trains and drop them of at their ‘houses’ . Growing up I would spend hours enjoying my legos and I would love my little one to have the same enjoyment with them. I bpught her first set ( The Duplo number Train) when she was a year old, i know a bit early, but she loves lego!
My daughter cannot sit for 2 minutes and build anything with Lego. She has such a short attention span. Would love to win this for my nephew though.
WOW!! What an amazeballs prize this is! Zoe loves to build anything and everything her heart desires 😉 Holding thumbs.
This would be a great win, and something I would also enjoy playing with with my 5 year old daughter, which can then be passed on to her 5 month old sister 🙂
I think I tend to have more fun with my niece and nephews lego collection than they do 😉 Hehe! Brings back such fond memories of my childhood! We build houses! Would love this truck to start my sons own collection now
K’s all about building planes and towers lately.
My little one is turning one soon and I wold love for this to be his first Lego! I am sure he would love building (and knocking down!) with Lego.
Fingers crossed
What an awesome comp! My 2 year old is obsessed with anything that has wheels and this would fit right in!
Anything as long as it has wheels

My kids love building farms out of Duplo, and also train tracks with stations and bridges.

At 15 months old my boy has yet to enjoy the pleasure of Lego at home… So no memories, yet!
I think it’s time.
We bought our 3 year old his first Lego Duplo’s this year for his birthday and he loves building tunnels for his cars to drive through. Would love to win some more for him!
I love how creative my son can be with his Legos! He doesn’t even follow sets, just makes up his own world 🙂
