I’ve just looked up a hundred different ways to write out the sound of static to try and illustrate my point. But I have failed. So I will describe it all you instead.
Let’s start with your trusted radio station. They’ve just played another smashing rendition of Taylor Swift and how she’s like, all dead and stuff (cue eye roll here) and you’re rejoicing that it finally over when the next song just doesn’t start playing. But you know that the radio is still on because in the silence you a able to hear a slight crackle and difference in the airwaves.
That’s this blog right now.
We’re still here and going on behind the scenes but ensuring that words make it out into writing has been really hard. Thank goodness for social media or how else would I get my fix of over sharing with you guys about the mundane ups and downs of our day to day. At least we’re keeping Twitter, Instagram and Facebook entertained 🙂 But I know you guys are totes cool with that because life is busy yo and no one is really waiting with bated breath for the next blog post. And if you are, you’re probs not reading this because you’ve joined the old Taylor in deadness.
The good news is that my in laws are back! Can I get a resounding HALLELUJAH? We missed them SO much. And like, not only because they are our primary support system. But because we love them and enjoy spending time with them. Anyway, this means that life is going to start going back to relative normality. And I for one cannot freaking wait. The kids were beyond stoked that they were all together again and they’re already had about 5 thousand mugs of Milo to make up for all the sweet deprivation that I put them through in the last 5 weeks.
This weekend is birthday weekend so even though I haven’t really had to a chance to think about it properly yet, I am about to hunker down into full party planning mode. Transformers here we go. Which is a rather stressful way to spend a birthday but 5 years ago I spent it in labour, so I think we’re making progress 🙂
Seth and I celebrated our 14 years of togetherness yesterday and it just really blows my mind. That’s a flipping long time and yet I’d still choose him day after day to do life with. I’m so looking forward to more chilling on the couch with a good series, debating yet another parenting challenge and many more crazy adventures ahead.
Other than that we’ve just finished up our little campaign with Toy Kingdom. I’ve really enjoyed trying to make videos worth watching recently and although I have got a VERY long way to go still, I like the way they’re turning out. It’s actually a lot of fun. If you’re also a fan of making vids of your kids you have about 7 days to get your post submission in on Facebook – so don’t delay, grab your favourite toy today. Look at that. I made a rhyme.
