Is that not the most angelic little face you’ve ever seen?  I just can’t.

This picture was taken when he was sick a couple weeks ago.  I’d taken the day off and was working from home with him when he said, “Mom, can we go snuggle in your bed?”  I was like do you know you’re speaking my love language right now?  And 5 minutes later this precious was snoring next to me.  I know in those situations you’re supposed to be super worried (because although Knox sleeps like a trooper – sometimes until 9 in the morning, he does not ever sleep in the day time), but I soaked up those cuddles like a sponge soaking up spilled coffee and twisting it over my mouth to get the last bits of it into my system.

But not actually cos that’s just freaking gross.

My little photographer! I love seeing what they decide to capture when they have a chance to take pics. I also love that she’s barefoot but freezing, so wearing my jersey as a dress. It all kind of just works. My awesome family and friends have gifted me with a photography course fpr my birthday and I’m SO excited to learn how to really take great pictures. This was our brief stint through Gaansbaai and then a little place called Dassiesfontein that’s covered in solar panels and has an incredible amount of treasures stored under their roof.

Currently:

Doing:  After planning two parties (Transformers and Boho) and surviving 5 weeks without my in laws I’m trying as much as possible to do nothing.  Although, when do we ever get that right?  The thing that I am doing that I’m most excited about doing is a little photography course that I was gifted for my birthday.  For years I’ve been using my camera on the “auto” setting and I’m so excited to learn how to take the pictures that I see in my head!  I was also spoiled with a couple of Sorbet vouchers so I can’t wait to go and get my nails done.  Ever since that mani that I had for our Italy trip I have been wanting another one!

Planning:  Now all that I have left on my planning agenda is a little movie night social for our church and then a school fundraiser in November.  But with the parties over I’m glad I can finally actually give them both some real attention!

SURPRISE GIVEAWAY!

Guys, I know someone who has written an actual real life book!  It’s so awesome.  Isn’t there just something about a book – such an accomplishment all held within those pages.  It was quite surreal reading her words and knowing her a bit through social media I could almost picture her writing them.  Insane!

But enough about that.  The actual book is a suspense and it was such an easy but still gripping read.  I had to get to the end to find out who it was.  And I am able to give you a copy of UNRAVEL by CHRISTINE BERNARD to read too!  Just enter the Rafflecopter widget below.

Side note:  I think I have a tummy bug.  Not that you really needed to know that, but I’m feeling sorry for myself so I thought I’d share it haha.

Things i did yesterday instead of making supper and doing homework: 1. A load of washing 2. Packed the dishwasher 3. Had a glass of wine 4. Did some shopping on the new Exact website 5. Cared about my blog 6. Made a video 7. Edited pictures 8. Decided to join my family for a 5km run 9. Immediately regretted saying that out loud to my children 10. Whimpered through the entire run but made it! Things I’ve done today: 1. Cried every time I’ve moved my body 🤣 It was great though, very thankful to @exact_clothing and @theflyingpan_ct for giving me a night off! #EXACTwhatIordered

It’s raining because I ran:  Every Monday Seth takes the kids for a 5km run.  Crazy right?  I never go because well, I hate moving my body.  Anyway, the way they do it is that Seth takes our double pram with them and then the kids take turns to sit in it when they are tired.  But then last week Kyla ran the entire thing in like 30 minutes or something crazy.  So I thought, if she could do it, so could I.  But I couldn’t.  We took like 40 minutes and now my body is so freaking sore I could cry.  I almost feel like I have the tummy bug as added punishment haha.

Watching: What even is TV?  We haven’t had a chance to watch anything much recently because things have been a bit nuts.  We finally finished Luke Cage (my gosh I could not wait!).

DEFENDERS:  Thank goodness for Daredevil.  He really brings the show together.  Without him I think the show would be just as terrible to get through.  But I really like him, and even Jessica has grown on me.  And it even seems as though Luke and Danny can act better with Daredevil around.  Although Danny still talks about the death of his parents in every single episode.  Like shut up already.

BIG BANG THEORY:  I know everyone hates on this show but I actually enjoy it.  Judge me if you want to!

Guys, my baby is about to turn 5. How is this possible?

“I almost feel like I have the tummy bug as added punishment haha.” This made my Laugh Out Loud hahahaha. I wish my daughter would run with me. I am doing my first 10km on Sunday and then the Sun City 1.5km Swim next Saturday. Quite excited yet nervous as all hell LOL.
FYI i loved reading about your party. Im so stoked you went ahead and did it. It was gorgeous.

I read at night – once Caleb is down for the night, I grab a GnT or glass of wine and settle in with a good book! If you can, read Necessary Lie by Diane Chamberlain – SO FREAKING GOOD!

I LOVE to read but don’t get to much time nowadays. So sometimes I get to fit in some reading after my daughter has gone to bed and lunches is packed or over weekends. I just love to get lost in a nice book with a good cup of tea and obviously lots of snacks as well. 🙂

I read a bit in the evening when I’m not busy with cleaning or washing or some other type of house admin but on Sundays my couch and I are the best of friends and I zone out and read for a few hrs

Bazinga… nothing wrong with your series choices. We are coming to the end of watching the mind fudge that is “Westworld”. Not sure if you seen that but definitely worth adding to your list. Also both your parties looked epic, think you missed a calling there.

I’ve heard a lot of people talk about westworld but I haven’t tried it yet! Adding it to my list now though!

Trying to get back into reading before bed instead of staring into a screen of sorts – used to devour a few books a month and lost that somewhere along the line!

It’s so good to read though hey?! I also lost it for a long time when my kids were born but now I’m absolutely loving it again!

I really enjoyed Unravel. Big Bang Theory is my favourite comedy series ever. You can guess from that I am not sporty, rather read and watch! However, husband and daughter are both sporty. Every now and then I will try but I just don’t enjoy it.

I know you should never judge a book by its cover, but man I’d love to read this book, just because of its cover!

When I was younger, I would read every free moment I got. Now with kids it only happens when they gone to bed- I manage to fit in a few pages before falling asleep myself so finishing a book takes ages but it’s better than not reading at all!

I use the trains to get to work in the mornings. That is usually my reading time.

Reply
Mbali 10 October 2017 at 12:00 PM

I read on my way to work seeing that I use the train. P. S it hasn’t been a good year for the trains in Cape Town
P.P.S I like Big Bang Theory too so there is no judgement here.
