Like most of you guys we started back at school last week. And wow, it’s only been like 4 days but we are already back in full swing. Extra murals are starting, a thousand notes are coming home every day and then there’s all the homework! But aside from the crazy rush that school brings into my life, I’m really glad that they are back. But probably not for the reasons that you think.

I really enjoy the holidays. Like really enjoy them. I’m in no rush to get them back to school because they’re annoying me or I’m tired of all the fighting. Although that fighting thing is REAL. But I’d still prefer the fighting over the busy any day. But I digress, the reason that I am happy for them to go back to school is because they love it. They love seeing their friends, sharing experiences with their classmates and learning new things. And I love watching them develop outside of my “protection” if you can call it that.
Getting ready for the new school year
When the new year kicked off I thought we were ready. But the day before school I realised that Riya no longer fitted into her school shoes anymore! Weirdly Kyla, who has been wearing the same pair of shoes for two years in a row now, didn’t need to change up. I must have bought them WAY to big for her in Grade one. Ooops! How funny is it that our hand me downs go from Riya to Kyla instead of the other way around haha.
We popped into our local Woolworths to get some new shoes the day before school. And it wasn’t nearly as crazy as I thought it would be, turns out everyone else is obvs way more organised than I am. We found our pair of shoes in her size (the last ones), grabbed some socks and paid at the till. We obviously swiped both our Myschool Card and our Woolworth WRewards card which is linked to Littleworld.
