What’s In The Box

I love surprises.

Not the “Oh my gosh I have to pay how much for this car service?!” or the “Jump out of the cupboard in a Scream mask” kind of surprises but the good kind.  The kind that leave you with a little bit of wonder and a lot of excitement fluttering around in your belly.

All the good things that fill this spot are surprise birthday parties, random acts of kindness, when your husband comes home with a huge packet of Nik Naks that you didn’t request but that he knew you wanted and parcels that appear on your doorstep.

I follow the same kind of routine every time I get a new order delivered, even if I know what’s in it.  I feel like a kid on Christmas day – putting it aside to look at and wonder about before slowly unwrapping it.  I never open boxes at work (where they are delivered), I like to wait till I’m home to indulge myself in the unwrapping process.  Carefully untying the strings, unpeeling the tape and folding up the wrapping after it’s been safely removed in one piece.  Wondering what could be hidden inside and if what I saw in the pictures will be better in real life.

Or if my kids are around, immediately having it ripped open and thrust into my hands.

Either way, there is so much excitement in opening that box.

BUT there’s even more excitement when I don’t know what’s in it.  Like, duh right?  I’m a Mom though, so stating the obvious is sometimes what I do.  Actually, it’s probably 85% of what I do.  Anyway.

This joy is not only limited to me.  You can also indulge yourself and get to be surprised with a new box delivered to your door.  But it’s not your usual order where you know what’s in it, instead it’s a #RBsecretbox that has new surprises in it every time.  The only thing you know for sure is that you’ll find your favourite professional hair and beauty products in there.

In #RBsecretbox #16 (that’s unfortunately sold out already) we had a pink Tangle Angel and a super cute blush/eye shadow from Hot Mama.  I don’t know about you but I certainly do like make up that comes standard with compliments.
