~*WIN*~ A Philips 2in1 Lithium Cordless Dry Worth R4 299

27 October 2017

The amount of time our children spend lying on the floor borders on the freaking ridiculous.

I mean, as an adult I can’t think of the last time I have willingly placed myself on the floor for no reason, and yet my children do it by default.  When I tickle them they sink to the floor to get away from me.  When they play a game of Barbie who happens to also control the whole of the Paw Patrol tower, they are all crowded around their toys on the floor.  When we have movie nights the kids huddle around the table, sitting cross legged on the floor.

This post is sponsored by Philips

Those are actually all legit reasons to be on the floor.  But the one that gets me is that sometimes I find them just lying on the floor for no apparent reason whatsoever.  It actually drives Seth more crazy than me, but it still boggles my brain.

I hear you asking me, “What’s the problem with kids being on the floor Cindy? They are kids for goodness sake!  Don’t be so overly dramatic.”

First of all, don’t take that tone with me young lady.  Secondly of all, I don’t know when last you read the title of our blog but we have two dogs.  Two massive Labradors who just wag their tails and about a bajillion hairs disembark from their cosy home and find their new spot on the floor.  The result is that the kids lie on the floor for literally a second and then when they get up I can’t tell if it’s Kyla or Coco.

We have a someone to help us keep our house looking relatively tidy and we are blessed to have her come over twice a week.  It amazing, we get home, the house looks amazing.  We let the kids and the dogs in and within 5 minutes there is sand from Knox’s shoes in a trail from the back door to his bedroom.  The girls have tracked glitter everywhere from their new skirts and the dogs just looked at each other and it made 875586568 hairs fall to the floor.

It feels overwhelming have someone just “pop in” because it’s embarrassing for me to have to ask them to dodge the hair balls that may or may not actually have come to life all on their own.

So when Philips gave us the 2in1 Lithium Cordless Dry vacuum from their new floor care range I couldn’t wait to try it out.  It’s so flipping nifty.  I can hide it behind our bin in the kitchen and whip it out easily whenever I spot a new pile of sand.  Previously I would have brought out the broom and tried to sweep it all up but I don’t know when last you tried to sweep dog hair and sand?  You rarely actually sweep up any hair, you just sort of mix it up and watch it fly further away from your dustpan.

The vacuum is strong enough to suck all the hair and dirt off your floors or furniture keeping your home as clean as possible.  Which is great because I know that if you’re not a dog lover, coming over to someones house and leaving covered in fur is not fun.  OK, even if you are a dog lover it’s not fun.

But that’s not all.  Not only does it act like a vacuum, you can also remove a hand held section for all those hard to reach places.  Seth used it to clean out his entire car and it worked brilliantly!  I still need to do it in my car, but that would mean removing the clothing cupboard that has slowly built up in there.  If you’re cold I think i have at least 3 jackets and a pair of socks you could use haha

It’s easy to clean out and it’s cordless which, aside from all the other amazing things it has, might top my list of awesomeness.  If I have to change a plug point I can tell you now that I will only go as far as I can with wherever it’s plugged into at that time.  The rest of the house would have to fend for itself!

Now I’m pretty sure you’d love to have one of these to ensure that the heart of your home (your floors) are always dust and hair free too.  So here’s your chance to win one 🙂

OMG I miss reading. I went from reading 60 books in 2016 to barely even 1 this year. FTM + under 1yro = no leisurely reading. I now mostly read online article or social media stuff when baby naps during the day.
Making ??? at that vacuum cleaner, so slim, so light.

I am OBSESSED with keeping my floors dust/sand/hair/fur/food/crumb free. And I always resort to the broom because plugging in the vacuum is admin. This vacuum is aqll my home-cleaning fantasies come true, second to a fulltime helper, of course.

READ! HAHAHAHAHA I wish! I do get time before bed but I read a few pages and fall right asleep. These days I am exhausted at the end of the day. I used to be able to read a book a day. I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in one sitting!

Read… mmh well other that the blogs I read on the pc when I get a gap at work, I don’t do too much reading. The only me time I get for that is when I’m laying in bed.. and the problem I have there is that I manage to read a page if I’m lucky, and then I’m out for the night lol. It totally puts me to sleep.

Here in Denmark people don’t walk in the house with their shoes. They build houses and apartments so there’s an entrance with space enough to have a shoe rack and coat hanging space. Much better 🙂

This review was absolutely wonderful to read, a fantastic giveaway and a much needed appliance for me. Thank you.

I have one night in the week designated to reading , Friday night’s, I get to put my feet up, cuppa tea in my hand and the newspapers , magazines that piled up during the week finally get my undivided attention , I must admit that parts of the magazine pages are cut off for school projects or pictures that someone felt the need to cut up and stick on walls and the newspapers are bitten off by the doggy…still trying to figure out who the culprit is that destroys the magazines though…..lol. And as for reading a novel I am working on making time for that probably in five years time lol.
❤???❤?

Cindy! I NEEED this vacuum. I totally feel you on the hair thing – we have 2 fluffy cats and a Jack Russel. Mistakenly thought a Jack Russel would not shed as much as it’s short haired. We were wrong. There are just millions of short white hairs everywhere! In a separate issue, my hair is also falling out in mass amounts. Hair central! I have a crawling baby and found a dog hair in her poo the other day. Sorry to overshare but you need to know I need that vacuum!

Janet Perry 30 October 2017 at 4:20 PM

When the children are in bed, watching a movie or out playing with their dad 🙂 Having said that, I rarely take the opportunity to read because I just can’t seem to finish any book these days waaaaaaaah 🙁

I usually read in bed for a bit before going to sleep, if im not too tired. Oh my gosh we need a vacuum cleaner so much, ours packed up and we have been sweeping our carpets for the last few months. It sucks and they are slowely getting worse because I can never get all the dirt out, this prize would be amazing.

Also looking forward to your campervan blogs…

I get a chance to read the blogs in the mornings… And some nights…

Reply

At the moment, my reading consists of studies so Saturdays or Sundays when baby goes to grandma…otherwise reading for pleasure (when im NOT studying for exams) happens when daddy has a morning seeing to little man and I can just stay in bed and catch up on my latest adventure 🙂

I NEED to win this! I have a super busy 11month old who crawls all over the show and eats things off the floor…and we have carpets :/ So hoping for this win!

Oh yes, I can hear my husband whooping for joy when I share this post with him. Not only will he be delighted I have entered the competition because we sure could do with this handy vacuum having just got a golden retriever puppy to join the madness of 3 kids under 7 …yes it’s freaking insane!…but he’s a bit OCD about the clean house so he will be somewhat reassured that I was telling him the truth this morning when I said that nobody with 3 kids can keep their house spotless for more than 5 minutes ?

Reply
Jo 3 November 2017 at 10:01 PM

No dogs here but with 4 kids I neeeed this!

Now this is what I am talking about! This looks like the kind of thing I simply have to have ?We inherited an albino fur baby, as a young couple, long ago…… our Bean. You literally glance at her and her hair squirts off. I adore her, but that hair, I should have shares with a sticky roller company! So I hear you. ?This nifty gadget would help so much with harnessing my “Stepford Housewife”. xx
