Preggyness – Week 7

22 February 2012

This was the week that we decided to “come out” regarding the pregnancy.  I am so glad I did, because hiding this belly is becoming a bit of a mish.

As this is my last pregnancy (yes you can quote me on that and hold me too it – please, please do!) I suppose I should at least try and do at least one of them “properly”, by doing a bit of a weekly update and piccies.  So far and not so good…  I don’t have a picture yet, but I promise next week there will be one.  I know I know…  There are people that only like to see the pictures…  Like my own husband…  So here is a quick collage of the first attempt at pictures of the girls “announcement“…

In the meantime I am going to answer a few questions that I keep getting asked so that I don’t forget what’s it been like.  Here we go:

How are you feeling?
Well not so great actually.  I suffer with morning sickness like you won’t believe.  A constant nausea that is not going away no matter how much I manage to eat.  This time the nausea is a bit weird – when I finally manage to eat then it’s great and I’m full, but not even 2 or 3 hours later and it’s like I’ve never eaten and my stomach is literally growing from the depths, pleading for more food.  I have a feeling that I am going to be obeastly (my own word for obese…) by the end of this preggyness.  Most days have been manageable except for Thursday and Friday when I actually vomited and on Friday I spent the whole morning clinging to a bucket.
Any cravings or weird foodie things?
I am finding it difficult to eat things with too much flavour – even though I crave it with every bit of me.  Once I get it and actually smell it I just can’t bear it anymore.  So my food of choice?  A nice piece of toast with margarine on it.  Yum, yum.
Are you struggling with anything?
I’m not sure if I would say struggling…  Maybe drowning and gasping for air?  No, it’s not so bad, but looking after 2 energetic tots in the afternoon when I’m not feeling to hot is not really that fun.
Tips that you have found useful in this last week?
Try and eat when you are hungry because it might stave of the nausea for a while.  If you are lucky.  And sleep as much as you can.
Progress on the baby room?
Um, what baby room?
Maternity clothes?  Any recommendations on stores?
Flip, my preggy clothes are sucking at the moment.  I can’t fit into any of my old pants (already!!!!  I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t panicking a bit about it).  So I am running out of dresses to wear.  If anyone has suggestions of nice maternity places please let me know!

Tent and tarpaulin might be able to help with the dress 🙂
