A Day In The Life Of The Alfino's

Keep Calm And Party On

I’ve been having one of those weeks where I’m in a constant state of mild panic/ball of nerves/giggly with excitement.  There have been many things happening that have thrown the usual course of life off kilter.

One our wonderful ladies at my office resigned and we are very sad to see her go, not to mention the difficulty of finding someone as capable to replace her.  Knox is sick and while I was carrying him around this morning during the school drop off, he fell asleep on my shoulder!  Now all I can think about is my sick child that I had to leave at home while I came to work.  Then there’s the very, very short slot on the Afternoon Express that aired yesterday where I managed to not make a total fool out of myself (I think) and then some very exciting emails that have popped into my inbox about cryptically good opportunities that I can’t talk about yet.  (Am I annoying you?  I’m annoying myself, but I am so excited that I just can’t keep it in).

Another thing I’m struggling with revolves around the management of discontent that I wrote about the other day.  Yes, there’s my need to control how I feel towards other people, but the struggle I’m having today is how other people (specifically you) view me.  As this blog is growing, I am being afforded more opportunities that I obviously want to grab with both hands and then twirl in a circle followed up with a fist bump with everyone in my close proximity but I don’t want to be that person.  That person that you roll your eyes at – you know what I mean?  One of the things that I would HATE is if you would start feeling discontent with your life after what you have seen/read here.

So if you feel at any point like I am losing myself or the “real” flavour of this blog I give you full permission to slap me across the face.

Now onto something more pleasant.

We recently had a super cool “kites and rainbows” party for the girls and I only shared some of the decor photos.  Now it’s time to share the rest of them.

If find myself humming the old song from Mary Poppins “Let’s go fly a kite, up, up…” I would love to see that snippet – you can not share it? And just be yourself – we love you for being you
