A Little Paw Patrol Party

Paw patrol party food, party table

Over the weekend we celebrated Knox turning four.

Originally we were going to have a Three Little Pigs Party, but he is just so freaking smitten with Paw Patrol right now that it would have been mean not to go with that as the theme.  Every time we leave the house he asks if we’re going to the toy shop to go and buy him a Chase.  So yes, he’s more committed than I am to like, chocolate.

Although we were celebrating both birthdays (mine and his), I actually kinda like having a kids themed party.  It’s such a treat to share in the excitement with him.

We spent the morning preparing the house with him in tow, and every time he passed the table he looked up at me and declared, “Mom, dis looks pewrfect for my party!  Good job!” with a big fat thumbs up.

Yet again, I knew that I wouldn’t get to everything that I wanted to.  The cake yes, because that’s the only thing I know I can commit to, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to pull off bone biscuits with royal icing.  Or even paw decorated cup cakes.  It’s more just a time factor than anything else.  Oh and I needed printed food labels and a big logo too, and after the fiasco last time, I needed to know I could trust someone with that.  So I used the new South branch of Berry and Flambe.  (I paid for it, so this is not sponsored).  Melissa was amazing, the goodies were delicious and I loved how bright and happy the food labels looked on the table.

We did jelly water bowls, paw sweets (from Woolies right now – the Cheetah saving packet thing), fire hoses for Marshall, paw-tatoe chips, pup corn, pup cakes and puppy chow.

I mentioned in a post a couple of days ago, that we had a much smaller party than usual.  Mostly due to September being a crazy busy month for everyone, but also because it’s the month if sickness.  Anyways, it was great.

And without further ado, here’s everything that we did.

We had our party on Heritage Day so we had a hotdog/boerewors roll station for everyone to indulge in.  Each one was a different one of the pups.  Not too creative, but everyone loved it!  They smashed those rolls in seconds.

And after all the fuss of taking the pictures of the perfect set up, I didn’t really get to take too many pictures of the actual party.  For once I was too busy enjoying chatting to everyone.

However, you can believe that we had a super time!

This looks amazeballs! Well done 🙂 I’m having a joint birthday for my kids the first weekend in December. I’ve hired a very basic venue round the corner from our house where another classmate had his party a few months ago, and just like the mother did, I wanted to go really really basic. After all, kids don’t need much ito food…there’s plenty of entertainment and I guess as long as there’s a cake to sing and a few snacks, it’ll be good. But reading all these party reviews (quite a few people I know have done Paw Patrol lately and my boys both love it, we’re having a joint party!!), I’m so tempted to go all out and roll with this theme. But my eldest wants Ninja Turtles and Thomas the Train for little brother. I wonder if I should go all out…

On the one hand – I totally agree with you. Kids don’t actually need much to have a good time. We did away with the jumping castle and games, but they still had fun. But on the other, I am a total sucker for going all out on the food/decor. I just can’t help myself. But I really enjoy it, so it’s not a huge deal for me. If going big is going to make you feel uneasy then don’t do it!

Doing a paw patrol theme party for my son’s 4th birthday party- and I too like going all out!!! Where did you get the dog bowls if I can ask? I looked at osmands in Lansdowne but couldn’t find? Checkers maybe? Also the labels – did berry and flambé do them for you?

HI Lisa! We actually got them from the Crazy Store I think. In fact I still have them if you want to borrow them?
