~*WIN*~ With Hatchimal Coll-EGG-tibles {Worth R500}

I’ve been wanting to share this awesome giveaway with you for so long now.  But even the best intentions are thwarted by, well, life really.

Our girls have been collecting the Hatchimals Coll-EGG-tibles for over a month now and although I would have liked to share this with you when it came out, it’s been great to see if it’s truly something that’s stuck.  You know what I mean?  Is it one of those toys you buy but then get forgotten about or are they still played with on the regular?

The good news is that they are still a firm favourite!  YAY!

Since our last toy review video was such a success, the girls wanted to do another one to show you how cool the Hatchimal Coll-EGG-tibles are.  However, when they actually had to do it, it didn’t really go down as well as they’d planned.  For a variety of reasons but I think the main one is that they were just too tired.  They sounded like robots and none of what they had planned to say came out right or with any real like, emotion.  It was like watching robots!  And the dogs barked through the entire thing – even though I put them outside.  Ugh.

NOT at all what they wanted it to be like and so they asked not to share it.  Which just goes to show what people who produce video content must go through regularly.  So you should give them lots of encouragement when they actually get it right!

Anyway, I’m just going to have to tell you how awesome the Hatchimal Coll-EGG-tibles are like the good old days.  You’re OK with that though right?  Right.

When we unboxed the little eggs, the first thing that we noticed was that if you warm the purple heart on the egg, it turns pink!  Which was awesome – so the girls sat there, rubbing away, trying to crack the egg.  Which, if you’ve seen how the original Hatchimals are born, actually happens.  So we rubbed and we waited, we cuddled them, we kept them warm and eventually we even sat on them.

Nothing happened.  Which I guess is obvious because it’s not going to be like the other one – we just thought maybe the rubbing and heat would thin out the shell or something.  It was hilarious though – all of us trying to sit on eggs and pretend to be mama birds.

Eventually we resorted to watching a video where the mom just shoved her thumb through the side and viola!

The baby was born.

What I like about collecting these is that they have helped to eliminate the guessing game that goes with it.  Usually you just have to buy one and hope for the best but with the Hatchimals Coll-EGG-tibles, the shell narrows that down for you.  Each shell has a different colour that narrows it down from like 40 different characters to about 8.  I like those odds.  And the best part is that you can see the colour of the shell through the packaging.  Brilliant!

They are super cute and the girls are obsessed with playing with little things.  So the little creatures have now become the pets of their dolls and have their own story that goes on on the sidelines.  It’s very entertaining to listen to.  I often have to stifle a giggle listening to them.

“No you can’t have any more sweets – your Mommy said that you’re only allowed one.”

“But it’s your nap time now.  Yes I know you just napped, but it’s time for another one so that I can sit down and have some tea.  You need to nap baby.  Mommy needs you to nap”

All the laughs.  I don’t know where they got that last one from as none have them have napped past 18 months!  But there you have it.
