I have three children with very different personalities. Obviously. It would be heck of a weird if they were all the same. Can you even imagine?! So weird. Although I was initially really shocked that even though Kyla and Ri were opposites, Knox isn’t like either of them. He’s his own opposite to that too. Anyway, I like that they are all so different and that they have a keen interest in such varied things.

Like take Kyla for example. If she is not practising her latest ballet moves for her upcoming exam, then she’s doing cartwheels. So many cartwheels that I am often surprised to see her the right way up on the few occasions that she is. She is currently dedicated to being able to do a handstand. And I have honestly never met anyone with her insistence to get it right. With muddy hands and sore arms, she just keeps going. Over and over again. Trying to perfect it. It’s like she’s living the Topsy Turvy land in the Faraway Tree.
Knox has suddenly taken to soccer. Which is weird because up till last year he just was not even the slightest bit interested. We tried. Over and over again. And nothing. Not even the slightest bit of interest. But now he plays with anyone and everyone, every second that he can get. He loves being the goalie. He’s also the most encouraging opponent I have ever faced. Constantly dishing out praise… “Wow Mom, dat was a really good kick. I almos didn’t save it! You are really good at kicking Mom. Mom, don’t take it easy on me OK? You must kick your hardest. I can take it.” It’s flipping adorable.
Riya takes after me with a bit of a love/hate relationship with moving her body. She tried out a few sporty options last year but this year she has taken to drama. Which if you have followed this blog for any length of time is freaking amazing in and of itself. Remember when she wouldn’t do anything in front of a crowd except scream? My girl is conquering her fears every day and she is doing such a good job of it!!
The thing that all of these kids have in common though is that they are all growing like weeds. Except Kyla. She’s growing like a Cindy. Which in summary means she’s short. But that’s OK. We can fit into small spaces which makes us the best at hide and seek.
Another thing they have in common is that they need new clothing that can keep up with their busy bodies. Clothing that moves with them, is durable and still looks great. Wow This hamper would be absolutely amazing.. My daughter is turning 8 in July.. my son is turning 7 in November and I am battling to keep up.. they are growing like weeds. I also LOVE the differences between my two boys! They’re also totally into joining my husband and I when we go training and superkeen to train themselves, playing around with slam balls and trying to pick up kettle bells with their TOES. My boys aged 6 and almost 5.
